
Jennifer has always wanted to be an all-purpose superstar. Her passion was for diverse music styles when she was a child, and particularly Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as salsa, merengue, and merengue and bachata. In her later years, her favorite genres were mainstream pop-hop, R&B, and hip-hop. Though she was a massive fan of music, her interest in the world of film was also high. West Side Story (1961), Rita Moreno's musical that influenced her most, was also her greatest influence. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Aside from being a budding entertainer, Jennifer became a Catholic girl who spent eight years at the Catholic elementary school called Holy Family located on The Bronx, before graduating from an all-girls prep school, Preston High School after an entire four years. In school, Jennifer was an amazing athlete, and played track and field and tennis. In Castle Hill, she spent the majority of her time in a 2-story house. Jennifer was the first to leave the home of her parents at 18 to move out. Lopez was able to work in a law practice throughout this time. She also began taking up dancing at night.
